Tonybet is a combined online casino and sportsbook that is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario (registration OPIG1239101) — the gold standard for Canadian player protection and, notably, a rarity among the operators in our directory. It launched as OmniBet in 2003, rebranded to Tonybet in 2009 under poker pro Antanas “Tony G” Guoga, and today operates independently as TonyBet OÜ (Estonia) after exiting the Betsson group in 2022.

How Tonybet reaches Canadians depends on where you live. Ontario players use the AGCO-regulated tonybet.ca under full iGaming Ontario oversight; players in other provinces use the international tonybet.com under a Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence (#902). Either way you get the same core product — a 6,000-plus-game casino with Evolution live dealer plus a 40-sport sportsbook on one platform. Welcome Bonus

The casino welcome is a four-deposit package worth up to C$2,500 in match bonuses plus 200 free spins: a 100% match up to C$1,000 with 100 free spins on Gates of Olympus, then three further deposits adding up to C$1,500 more and another 100 spins. Minimum qualifying deposit is C$20.

Bonus value, in numbers: clearing the full C$2,500 in match bonuses at 50x means C$125,000 of wagering inside the 14-day window — about C$8,900 a day, or roughly 890 bets a day at the C$10 max-bet cap. The one housekeeping clause worth noting is an inactivity fee that applies after six months of dormancy, so close out a balance you’re not using.

Provincial Legality

Tonybet is one of the few operators we cover that is genuinely on the iGaming Ontario operator register (AGCO registration OPIG1239101, live since December 2022). For Ontario players that’s a meaningful difference: the tonybet.ca product runs inside Ontario’s regulated market, with disputes routed through the iGaming Ontario complaints process and participation in the province-wide BetGuard self-exclusion program.

Players in other provinces access the international tonybet.com under a Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence (#902). Kahnawake is a long-standing Canadian Indigenous gaming authority, but it isn’t AGCO — players outside Ontario sit outside the provincial regulated framework, with recourse through Kahnawake or aggregator mediation rather than iGO. The RG Check accreditation by the Responsible Gambling Council and the eCOGRA audit reinforce that the product is taken seriously, and the casino-plus-sportsbook breadth, 6,000-plus games and Evolution live dealer make it a genuinely full offering, not a thin one.

The case to weigh is real, though. In January 2023 the UK Gambling Commission fined Tonybet £442,750 (around C$770,000) for anti-money-laundering and social-responsibility failures and for unfair withdrawal-friction terms — a serious regulatory blemish, even though it was a UK-jurisdiction matter resolved through a fine and a mandated audit rather than a licence loss. That same withdrawal-friction theme recurs in the consumer-feedback picture below, which is why we don’t dismiss it. The bonus is the other drag: as the value math shows, the 50x wagering makes the headline C$2,500 a ceiling few players will reach, and the sportsbook lacks live streaming for Canadians.
